Classic Pulp Horror Magazines

Here is a selection of classic pulp horror magazine covers from the 1930s and 1940s. Aimed mainly at the male market (the covers make this obvious!), these contained lurid and sensational tales of terror which normally comprised of a damsel in distress, and usually scantily clad, needing to be rescued by a butch hero from the clutches of evil doctors or creatures from beyond the grave. The magazines attracted many respected writers and artists, and the covers are fantastic - even if exploitative.
